Custom decks, porches, patios and other outdoor structures in Northern Virginia

Bob Wing

Bob Wing has been building outdoor patios, fireplaces, kitchens, and retaining walls for 25 years. Bob does the work himself and he has a real passion for doing things the right way.

There are a hundred shortcuts in the stonemason’s industry and Bob takes none of them. The reason for the high cheat rate is that there is virtually no way for clients to know a shortcut was taken until a year or two later, when there is movement or cracking and then, of course, it’s too late.

It all starts with assessing the current conditions (soil composition, slope, drainage, surrounding architecture, etc.) and then customizing the solution with all of those factors in mind. This requires a seasoned eye, years of experience and, again, the integrity to do it right (because let’s face it, clients don’t know what they don’t know – they depend on us to do it right the first time).

Bob is an expert on the latest materials and techniques, and he will help clients find the right approach for years of structural integrity and aesthetic beauty. Most people don’t fully understand that our universe is in constant motion, and outdoor structures, more than anything else, must be built properly to withstand the harsh conditions of rain, snow, sun, wind, and erosion, to stand the test of time. Since most patios don’t require a building permit, it’s especially important for clients to choose a trusted contractor because there isn’t a building inspector checking their work.

Bob is a graduate of Mary Washington University and is a stonemason by trade. He is passionate about strengthening the relationship between people and nature. Bob receives tremendous satisfaction from the somewhat ironic knowledge that his hard work enhances the leisure of his clients.
